Over Politics
Katie’s positions are rooted in real conversations with Jacksonville families, a deep understanding of the challenges facing our city, and a genuine commitment to helping solve them — not a consultant’s briefing book.
Focused on What Matters. For All of Jacksonville.
My priorities are rooted in what I’ve heard from people across Jacksonville: affordability, sustainability, safe neighborhoods, strong public schools, smart growth, and a city government that serves everyone — not just a select few.
This campaign isn’t about politics as usual. It’s about practical solutions, real accountability, and decisions guided by the needs and values of the people who call Jacksonville home.
Together, we can build a city that works for all of us.
Making Jacksonville Work for Working Families
I’m running because I want my kids — and all of our kids — to be able to choose Jacksonville as their forever home. Right now, that’s getting harder every day. Too many families are being squeezed by rising housing costs, higher energy prices, increasing healthcare expenses, and everyday bills that are outpacing wages.
As your City Council representative, I will work to expand housing options so people at every income level have a place in our city. I’ll support policies that protect families from being priced out of their neighborhoods, invest in solutions that keep people housed and build long-term stability, and partner with local and state leaders to bring real resources back to Jacksonville — helping lower costs and improve access to essential services like healthcare.
Jacksonville is growing — and that growth should create opportunity, not push people out. I’ll fight to ensure our city remains a place where families can afford to stay, put down roots, and build a future.
Safe Communities Start with Smart Investment
We all deserve to live in a community where we feel connected, safe, and proud of where we call home. Thriving neighborhoods are built through intentional investment in the things that shape our daily lives.
That means improving sidewalks and safe routes to school, expanding and maintaining parks and public spaces, supporting local arts and community programming, and ensuring families have access to healthy food and essential services. It also means investing in our young people through after-school programs, teen spaces, mentorship, literacy initiatives, tutoring, and activities that keep children engaged, supported, and connected to their communities.
When we invest in neighborhoods, we also invest in safety. I will support proven prevention and intervention programs that reduce violence, support youth, and address challenges before they escalate — while also ensuring our first responders have the resources they need to do their jobs effectively.
A Stronger Jacksonville for Everyone
Jacksonville is growing, and that growth should create real opportunity for our residents, small businesses, and families. A strong economy means good jobs, thriving local businesses, and communities that benefit from that growth.
We have real momentum, especially Downtown – and we need to build on it. That means investing in our urban core with more housing, stronger support for small businesses, and walkable, vibrant spaces that bring people together. A strong Downtown lifts the entire city.
But growth cannot stop there. Every neighborhood deserves thoughtful investment, reliable infrastructure, and development that keeps pace with the needs of the people who live there.
Jacksonville’s growth should be inclusive, sustainable, and built to last – creating opportunity today while strengthening our city for the future.
